Position Tasks:

•    Use of “Point of Sale” cash register:

o    Ringing orders on the “POS” register
•    Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits
•    Process credit and/or debit card transactions
•    Validate checks (check identification)
•    Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change
•    Post charges against customer accounts

o    Calculate total payments received during the shift and reconcile this with total sales at the end of the shift

o    ID every customer that orders alcohol, MUST reject alcohol orders to minors

o    Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and ending of shift
•    To ensure amounts are correct and that there is adequate change

o    Making deposits to the safe deposit box at the end of every shift

o    Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins

o    Compute and record totals of transactions


•    Other tasks throughout the shift

•    Stocking shelves and refrigerator
•    Serving beverage orders, including beer and wine to adults over 21 years of age

•    Serving additional orders such as tostadas and salsa

•    Helping the shift manager in food preparation, cleaning and menu item preparation if needed
•    Answer the phone for take out or delivery orders
•    Make sure there are enough beverages in the fridge and in the ice box next to the cashier stations. Restock beverages if needed.
•    Make sure there is enough ice in the “ice box”, restock the “ice box” with more ice if needed
•    Prepare take out and delivery orders
•    Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area
•    Compile and maintain monetary and non-monetary reports
•    Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions
•    Offer customers take-out service at the completion of each transaction
•    Maximize the guest experience by greeting customers entering and exiting Chilorio's
•    Offer and sell Chilorio’s merchandise and other items to customers
•    Might be assigned to work in other stations in the restaurant area, kitchen and/or bathrooms.

Position Requirements:

•    Must be 18 years or older
•    Ability to handle money accurately
•    Basic knowledge of the functions of a cash register
•    Ability to remain stationary for periods up to 4 hours in length
•    Bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred. Must speak English
•    High school diploma or GED equivalent desired
•    Must possess basic math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly)
•    Ability to remember information such as words, numbers, pictures, and procedures
•    Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
•    Ability to speak clearly so others can understand
•    Must adhere to Chilorio's uniform, procedure and performance standards and policies and must maintain a clean and professional image
